Tallaght & Firhouse Credit Union Announces New Opening Hours
Changes take effect from Monday, 19 October

Tallaght & Firhouse Credit Union is pleased to announce revised branch opening hours, designed to better reflect how members access and use our services today while continuing to provide the personal, community-focused service that has always been at the heart of our Credit Union. The new opening hours will come into effect from Monday, 19 October.

The changes follow a comprehensive review of member service usage across our Tallaght and Firhouse branches. The review looked at how members engage with the Credit Union and how those patterns have evolved over time.

Today's members enjoy more choice and flexibility than ever before. With 24/7 access through our mobile app and online services, together with the introduction of SEPA Instant payments, members can access their accounts and move funds at a time that suits them, seven days a week. At the same time, our branches continue to play a vital role in supporting members who value face-to-face service, financial guidance and personal assistance.

The updated opening hours have been developed to ensure branch services are available when members are most likely to use them. The review found that demand for late evening branch access has steadily declined over several years, reflecting changing lifestyles, working patterns and the increasing use of digital services.
Importantly, members continue to have convenient in-person access across both branches, including Saturday morning opening at our Firhouse branch. The revised arrangements also introduce continuous service throughout opening hours in Firhouse, with the removal of the lunchtime closure, making it easier for members to visit whenever it suits them during the day.

The way people access financial services today is very different to even a few years ago. Members now have access to their accounts 24 hours a day through our digital services, while SEPA Instant payments mean they can access their money when they need it, not simply when a branch is open.
While technology has expanded how members can engage with the Credit Union, our branches remain a vital part of the communities we serve. That's why we undertook a detailed review of how and when members are using our services.
What we found was a clear and consistent trend. Demand for late evening access has been declining for several years, while members increasingly value flexibility, convenience and choice in how they interact with us.
These new opening hours reflect that reality. Members continue to benefit from convenient branch access, including Saturday morning opening, enhanced digital services, instant payments and the personal service that remains at the heart of everything we do.
